The IDC Segmentation Framework

Velora — the structure behind every recommendation.

Most material decisions fail not because of poor products, but because of misalignment — a luxury specification on a practical budget, or a value product in a space that deserved more. Velora is how IDC prevents that. Every project is aligned to one of three tiers before a single material is shortlisted.

Velora Select
Practical · Considered · Right-sized

For builder floors, smart residential developments, and value-conscious projects — materials selected for durability, availability, and honest performance, without compromising design sensibility.

Velora Elite
Refined Design · Balanced Luxury

For premium residences where design leads but pragmatism remains — elevated formats, superior finishes, and curated brand selections that hold their character for decades.

Velora Forte
Bespoke · Architectural · Uncompromising

For luxury and design-focused spaces — imported collections, statement surfaces, and materials specified by private selection. Available by appointment.

Why segmentation comes before selection

Most disappointing material outcomes are not caused by bad products. They are caused by misalignment — a luxury specification imposed on a practical brief, or a value product placed in a space that deserved considerably more. Both failures look identical at the point of sale and only become obvious once the space is finished and lived in.

Velora is the correction. Before a single tile, fitting or slab is shortlisted, the project is placed in one of three tiers. That single step decides what you are shown, and therefore what you can reasonably choose between. It also makes the conversation honest: nobody is quietly upsold, and nobody is quietly under-served.

Velora Select

Practical and value-conscious projects — builder floors, rental units and smart residential developments. Here the governing criteria are consistent availability across many units, dependable everyday performance, formats a standard site team can execute well, and long-term serviceability. Design sensibility is not sacrificed; it is simply exercised within a disciplined range.

Velora Elite

Premium residences where design leads but pragmatism remains. Larger tile formats, refined finishes, wall-hung sanitaryware, coordinated bath fitting families, and brand selections chosen to hold their character for decades rather than for a season.

Velora Forte

Luxury and bespoke architectural spaces. Imported collections, book-matched slabs, complete concealed shower systems, specialty finishes and statement surfaces, specified by private appointment. This is where material selection genuinely becomes an architectural act rather than a finishing decision.

The structured process is identical across all three tiers. The rigour does not change with the budget — only the shortlist does. See how this plays out across tiles, bath fittings, sanitaryware and surface solutions.

The Principle

The tier shapes the shortlist.
The shortlist shapes the space.

Questions about the Velora framework

What is the Velora framework?

Velora is Imperial Design Concepts' segmentation framework. Every project is aligned to one of three tiers before any material is shortlisted: Velora Select for practical, value-conscious work such as builder floors; Velora Elite for premium residences; and Velora Forte for luxury and bespoke architectural projects. The tier determines the shortlist, so the recommendation stays proportionate to the project.

How is my project's tier decided?

Through conversation, not a form. We look at what is being built, at what scale, on what timeline, with what design intent, and who will use the space and how. A four-unit builder floor and a bespoke villa call for genuinely different answers, and pretending otherwise serves neither.

Can one project use more than one tier?

Frequently, and sensibly so. A home might specify Velora Forte surfaces in the living room and master bath, and Velora Select in utility areas and staff bathrooms. Concentrating investment where it is seen and felt, and being disciplined elsewhere, is usually a better outcome than spreading the same standard thinly across every room.
